When it comes to your wedding, you want everything to be perfect, especially your hair. Try some of these tips before the big day to help your locks look luscious as you walk down the aisle.

Washing

Washing your hair properly is important every week, but it is especially important on your wedding day. Even though the way you wash and dry your hair may not initially seem like a big deal, you can cause yourself unnecessary hair damage if you do it the wrong way.

According to Black Charles Salon, you should gently squeeze water from your hair or blot it with a soft cloth to dry it instead of rubbing it or twisting it up with a towel to avoid damaging it. Also, make sure you are using high-quality shampoo and conditioner to avoid damaging your hair with harsh chemicals.

Coloring

You should also think about coloring your hair before your wedding. If you decide to go this route, make sure you don’t get your hair colored too close or far away from the wedding. You don’t want to end up with too much root growth or a color you don’t like the day before your wedding. According to Essence of Australia, you shouldn’t color your hair any later than two weeks before your wedding.

If you color your hair too close to the actual wedding date (for example, a week or even two out), you run the risk of not liking your hair and then having little time to fix it. If you do your hair too early, highlights or color might start to fade or grow out.

Hair Masks

As you look forward to your wedding, according to Hello Glow, you should incorporate hair masks into your routine. Doing a hair mask once or twice a week can help nourish hair, add shine, and provide smoothness that you might be able to get otherwise. Hair masks are particularly useful because they tend to penetrate the follicle with nourishing ingredients more than your conditioner does when you wash your hair.

There are a variety of hair masks that you can buy, but there are also a lot of different options that simply require regular ingredients that you would probably find in your refrigerator and pantry. You may even be able to concoct your own hair masks based on your hair’s particular needs.

As your wedding day approaches, it’s important that you prepare. When it comes to hair care, you can never start too early. Incorporate some of these ideas into your pre-wedding plan to make sure you have the hair of your dreams on your big day.
