My wedding day was perfect. Although all of the flowers and food and decorations we impeccable, what made it really special was the people. Having all of those other things were just the cherry on top! Porter and I were married on August 1st, 2015.

We decided to hold our reception the night before so we wouldn’t be so tired on our wedding day and that was probably one of the best decisions we made! We held the reception July 31st at Chantilly Mansion. It was absolutely perfect. Everyone there was so helpful and they had all the decorations except for the flowers and pictures, so it was super easy set-up and cleanup. They served sugar cookies that were the colors of our wedding and Porter’s grandmother, who used to have her own chocolate company, made chocolates for all the guests. Porter’s aunt did the cake and his cousin did the flowers. They both turned out better than we could’ve even imagined! For the music, Porter and I signed up for a free 3 month trial on Spotify and made a playlist with all the songs we wanted.

I got my wedding dress before Porter and I were even engaged because Elizabeth Cooper Design only does trunk shows every so often, so I wanted to jump on the deals and get a good priced but incredibly beautiful dress.

Our photographers were incredible! Ethan Watts (EWatts Photography) did our engagements and bridals. He is one of Porter’s best friends so he gave us a very kind discount. Tyler Rye did our reception and wedding photos. He is based out of St. George, but was already going to be in the area for our wedding so didn’t charge any travel costs! Both of these photographers were absolutely incredible and so much fun to work with! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone. Rocco Joseph Films did our videography. He does such fabulous work! We loved spending time with him.

We had an early luncheon on the morning of our wedding at a local chapel and ate Chinese food. It was delicious! After that, we were married in the Salt Lake Temple at 3:40pm, which was perfect lighting for pictures. We had a sendoff from right outside the temple grounds in Salt Lake and left for our honeymoon around 5pm.

Your cake is stunning! This looks like a great two days! I love the idea of having your reception the day before. Then your wedding day can truly be all about your new Union together :). Congratulations!
