Grandparents at Wedding, Love Your Grandparents to the Fullest on Your Wedding Day

If you’re anything like me, your grandparents hold a special place in your heart. Growing up, I was fortunate to live near them, sometimes just down the road. I even moved in with them between college semesters. My dad’s dad played a pivotal role in my life, supporting me through tough times and even moving me to college in my second year. He walked me down the aisle on my wedding day, adding a touch of warmth and nostalgia.

Incorporating your grandparents into your wedding day can be an incredibly rewarding experience. It can be sweet, meaningful, and occasionally a little silly. Make it fun and ensure they feel as happy as you do. Sadly, my grandpa passed away two years before my wedding, never having met my husband. I often imagine him teasing my husband with his good-natured humor.

My grandma, however, was there to see me get married and welcome my first daughter into the world. Her presence was a huge part of our lives. Unfortunately, she passed away before meeting my second child. On the other hand, my dad’s mom left us when I was a teenager. She never got to see me grow up but had dressed me as Dorothy countless times, living near The Wizard of Oz museum.

Including grandparents on your wedding day creates cherished memories. These photos below tug at the heart and hopefully inspire you with ideas to celebrate their love and legacy.
