What you will need:

  • Wooden paint sticks or long wood cut into strips about 10
  • Your choice of wood stain
  • Brush
  • Hot glue gun
  • Tiny nails / hammer
  • White paint
  • Skinny paint brush

If you go to lowes or Home Depot you can ask for free paint sticks. Some people will give them to you and some won’t. So you may have to go department store hopping and pick up 10 paint sticks. Or you can get long pieces and cut them down. You could also use recycled wooden rulers.

Use a paint brush and very lightly Stain the wood. The thicker you do it the longer it will take to dry and it will be sticky. Get a paper towel and even Dab off excess if you get too much.

Lay them flat in a square and line them up about 8 or however many you need to make a square. Put two sticks on the back and hot glue them down. Then hammer in some tiny nails to make it secure. You can get these at a craft store where they sell the hooks for picture frames.

Turn over and paint your sign! I went to dafont.com and chose what font I wanted then copied it. If you have a Cricut you could cut a stencil if you aren’t that artistic. And TA-DA a cute gift table sign! I bought a darling easel at Michaels with a 40% coupon. Now no confusion on where the gifts go.
