How long is the Average Honeymoon?

As soon as the wedding planning is complete, you may be ready to start looking into honeymoon plans. Some couples prefer a shorter honeymoon while others want to be whisked away for a longer period of time. Whether you already know the length of your honeymoon or still planning it, it’s important to know how long the average honeymoon is.

In order to determine how long the average honeymoon is, there’s some information to take into consideration. Knowing where you’ll be venturing to, how much you have set aside for a honeymoon budget, and if you are parents then you must take into consideration how long you’ll have a sitter for them.

For most newly married couples the average honeymoon lasts anywhere from 4 days up to 15 days. If you’re planning to go further away to a destination like Hawaii or Caribbean island, you may opt to extend your honeymoon out to 15 days simply to allow enough time to relax, indulge your sense and enjoy some alone time after your wedding.

A shorter honeymoon, such as one that lasts around 4 days is usually planned when a newly married couple has children, pets or other obligations that will keep them from being gone longer than an extended weekend type of honeymoon. Your best bet to planning an average honeymoon length will be to start looking into honeymoon plans as soon as your wedding planning is done.

So, how long is the average honeymoon?

The simple answer is it’s up to the newly married couple. Every new marriage has its own obligations and financial restrictions to how long their honeymoon can be. Have a discussion with your partner to determine where you both would like to go, how much money you have budgeted for this expense and how long you can take from work as well as other obligations in your life.

Once you’ve established the ground rules for what you feel you can afford for a honeymoon as well as the length of time involved for the honeymoon, it’s time to start fine-tuning the itinerary for your honeymoon adventure. Your honeymoon will be one of the first expenses that you both work together in planning after marriage.

Being smart about how long to have your honeymoon and how much money to spend on it will allow you and your partner to enjoy some downtime after the excitement of joining hands in matrimony for the first time together. When thinking about how long the average honeymoon is, the real answer comes down to; it’s so different for every couple that there isn’t one answer fits all.

5 Tips for Selecting Your Wedding Rings Within Budget

By My Trio Rings

Wedding ring shopping isn't as daunting as it's made out to be! Yes, there is a bit of planning that goes into making this important purchase, especially knowing where to propose, but with a few expert tips, you'll be able to make an educated decision knowing you checked off everything on your wish list, asked all the right questions and followed these 5 simple tips for finding your wedding rings!

1) Set a Budget:

This will allow you, or the retailer, to balance your specifications for the rings, including diamond shape, diamond carat weight, gold color, ring style, etc. Shopping online allows you to explore different budgets and avoids the awkwardness of justifying your exact budget to a sales associate.

2) Request a Free Ring Sizer

By knowing you and your partner's ring sizes ahead of time, this will reduce the possibility of ordering the incorrect ring size, and the need for a resizing. You can actually measure your ring size from the comfort of your home with a free ring sizer from My Trio Rings.

3) Read Reviews:

By reading reviews of the rings from modern couples, you will familiarize yourself with the quality and experience you will receive from the company you want to purchase from.

4) Review Store Policies:

It is essential to understand the store policies to ensure that after you purchase the product, you're able to communicate effectively with the company and receive the best post-purchase care. Particularly, during the holiday season, stores will alter their exchange policy, shipping speed, and services available.

5) Check for Affordable Payment Plans, or Split Payment Options:

Most online retailers offer the lowest price possible, so there's no in-person negotiating. However, using promotional codes, layaway payment plans, financing options, and split-payment arrangements, your purchase becomes more manageable, and allows you to stay within your budget. By taking the discomfort of haggling with a jeweler, e-retailers are creating a stress-free and judgement-free online shopping experience. The ability to split the payment among 2 or, more individuals, gives family members the opportunity to contribute to the gift of our wedding rings while allowing the couple to manage the purchase they wish.

Now that you are ready to shop, always remember that the rings are a symbol of your love. When you find the right rings, you'll just know!

To Be An A+ Wedding Guest

If you’re planning to attend a wedding, you’ll want to make sure you show up on your best behavior. After all, the bride and groom have likely spend a tremendous amount of time, energy and money into the celebration - the last thing you want to do is deter from that. Fortunately, being a great wedding guest isn’t too tough. Want to know how to be the best wedding guest ever? Keep these tips in mind as you gear up to attend your next wedding:

RSVP as soon as you can.

Don’t be the invitee who waits until the last moment to let the bride and groom know they plan to attend. Instead, start acting like an A+ guest before you’ve even arrived at the wedding by submitting your RSVP as quickly as possible. You should, of course, wait until you can commit before you let them know - but don’t delay your decision too long, or you’ll add unnecessary stress to the bride-to-be’s plate.

Show up on time.

Make a plan to arrive at the wedding well before the ceremony is scheduled to begin. Unless an emergency catches you off guard, there’s no acceptable reason to be late. And if you are? Find a place in the back of the room to respectfully watch without causing a disruption and keep the focus on the vows, not your tardiness.

Follow directions.

This one shouldn’t be too tough, but a surprising number of wedding guests struggle to interpret directions as instructions - not guidelines. If the invitation includes a dress code, follow it. No kids allowed? Find a sitter if you’d like to attend. No photos during the ceremony? Keep your cell phone on silent mode in your purse or leave it in the car.

Make new friends.

Introducing ourselves to strangers isn’t always a ton of fun, but weddings present a perfect opportunity to meet new people. You’re all connected in some way through your relationship to the bride or groom, so you’ve got an easy conversation starter. Spend a few minutes catching up with the newlyweds, but don’t monopolize their time. Instead, circulate the room and find new folks to introduce yourself to.

Don’t overindulge.

Enjoying a cocktail or two is often part of the fun during wedding dinners and receptions, but when there’s an open bar, there’s the potential for trouble. Keep an eye on your level of intoxication and don’t let things get out of control. Eat plenty of food so you aren’t drinking on an empty stomach, and switch to water once you start to feel a buzz, and you’ll escape the evening unscathed and unembarrassed.

As you can see, acting like an A+ wedding guest isn’t impossible. With a little consideration and planning and the right mindset around the day, you’re sure to have a great time - without having too much fun. What are your best tips to stay on your A game when attending weddings? Alternately, do you have any faux pas to avoid at all costs? Leave a comment and let me know!
