Are you’re searching for ways to save money on wedding flowers? I have good news! There are several ways to do just that. These are just a few of them.
Use In-Season Flowers
The best flowers to use for arrangements are blooms in season at the time of your wedding. This way, you can rest assured the flowers you select will stay fresh throughout the ceremony and reception. You’ll also save money buying seasonal flowers as opposed to off-season varieties or silk flowers. If possible, try to choose flowers that are locally sourced. Why? You don’t have to pay nearly as much for them, in regard to transportation costs.Work With Your Florist
Let your florist be your guide when it comes to picking out perfect arrangements for your event. It’s important to communicate clearly, both in terms of what style you’re looking for and how much want to to spend. He or she knows the best flowers to use to achieve your desired look for the lowest price.Keep Things Simple
When you pick out flowers and begin to discuss arrangements, you’ll save money by keeping things simple. If your florist isn’t required to source lots of different flowers to fill your order, it won’t be as costly. In addition, opting for less-complex arrangements means you’ll save money in the form of reduced labor costs.Use Your Ceremony Flowers at the Reception
Get the most out of your floral arrangements by moving them to the reception venue after your ceremony. For example, use your aisle flowers to decorate buffet tables, or put the bridesmaid’s bouquets into vases to use them as centerpieces. By reusing your flowers for the reception, you save 100 percent of the money (earmarked for flowers) you would have used decorating a second venue. These are just a few simple ways to save money on wedding flowers. With a little advance planning, it isn’t necessary to spend a fortune on this aspect of your wedding. And, better yet, you’ll still end up with a beautiful setting for the ceremony and reception.Inspiration: Videography

Hello! I got married in October and it was amazing! I had a fall wedding and loved it! We got married in the Salt Lake Temple and then had a dinner and reception at Trolley Square.
Great suggestions. It is best to check with the venue about moving flowers. For instance, if planning a church wedding, some churches expect to be able to use the flowers as decorations for themselves after the ceremony so it is best to confirm before you assume what you will be doing.
However, you might be looking more for table decorations than large floral decorations at the reception depending on the venue so you may not find the decorations are needed at the reception.
Finding a florist that is willing to work with you is important. Some are creative and do beautiful work, but they are also practical about price and budgets. Others think the sky is the limit on your day and aren’t as easy to work with on pricing. If you need to budget find someone who can do both. I’ve worked with a couple of local florists on other projects and both are creative wonderful designers, but they can bring a project in at or under budget. I’ve walked away from people who won’t talk bottom line.
